MIL might not show for surprise announcing tonight

Ugh, need some advice/ support.


DH and I plan on surprising our moms tonight by telling them we are pregnant... But unreliable, wishy-washy MIL now may not show / keeps pushing back when she'll arrive.


When I asked my mom to come, who we are seeing from brunch tomorrow either way, she was all "what time? What can I bring?" MIL (who usually hosts Christmas Eve) apparently was going to go to her boyfriend's family party (and never tell us to make other plans?). So we had to push back when everyone (my mom & BIL & SIL) arrives for MIL'a schedule... And just last night, she pushed back her arrival back by almost a whole other hour!


After spending all this money for food (which she probably won't be hungry for after the other party that she's still going to) and timing everything around her, I'm afraid, with her track record, that she isn't even going to show even though DH stressed how much he wants her here. I'm frustrated, stressed and feel so bad for DH ... And can't really vent to anyone else but here because we haven't announced yet!
