Been a Lurker here for about a year. Finally deciding to post. My DH has his mom, who is completely nuts and cut out of OUR lives. Then he has his dad and step mom. My baby is 9 weeks old and they are crazy about her. His step mom has made a few bitchy comments before but I've let them go until today. Today, they asked us to stop by while we were in town. We did and they visited with LO and the whole time his step mom completelt ignored me and talked to everyone else. That bothered me so I told DH it was time to go, that lo was getting tired and cranky. Right before we walked out his step mom asked if lo could stay the night. I POLITELY told her I wasn't comfortable with over nights yet and she replied 'k' and walled off. No big deal, what ever, I'm used to it. His dad who is a great guy said his goodbyes and we left. Then not even 10 minutes down the road his step mom bombards me with messages about how crazy I am and I'm the reason their family just got tore apart and I'm extremely selfish and don't deserve lo. I waited until we got home to reply and told her once again I wasn't comfortable with over nights and that she was being wayyyy dramatic about the situation and that she has little respect for me to begin with. So she blocks me and I think it's over. THEN his sister (who is our neighbor) messages me telling me I'm a raging bitch and am no longer invited to her upcoming wedding 'but my baby is' and that I've completely destroyed her mom and have gone too far this time? Then she blocks me. Over the course of the day they have continued to unblock me to message me and then block me again on messenger before I can even look at the message or block them once and for all. The messages say things like 'you don't deserve lo' , 'you use your baby to punish people and use her as a pawn'. Then his step mom informs me about grandparents rights and tell me she will call Cps and have them do a welfare check bevause my baby has chemical burn and is clearly being neglected. She has chemical burn from huggies diapers which is currently being treated by a doctor. What do I do? This us driving me crazy. It's awkward bevause my sister in law is my neighbor. I'm 20 years old, first time mom and had nooooo idea how bat shit crazy grandparents can get over babies. It's sickening. His dad is a great guy but unfortunately follows dh's step mom around like a lost puppy. The only thing I managed to message her without being blocked again was to grow the fuck up. Someone surely has been in this position before? Just needing to know what others would do to handle this.
