Now she wants to be a grandma?

(going anon)

I have one child, 2.5 years old, the father dumped me when I got pregnant, he never wanted the child, tried to get me to not have the child, told me we could still be together ("I love you, everythings perfect, but I can't be with you if you have a kid") which was a lie.

He briefly thought he would be involved and at that point my mom wrote his mom a letter inviting them to be grandparents. * edited to clarify this letter was written back when he was born with my permission. at that point my ex was planning on being involved.

No response from them. He texted me all mad with "don't have your mom write letters to my mom"

I have not heard from him since my son was born. I live across the country from him.

Anyway yesterday 2.5 years later my mom got a response from his mom. My mom is a total unicorn and was crying because she was so *happy and overcome* to hear from her.

But the dad still wants nothing to do with his child. I can't do any weird dysfunctional crap where they are somehow involved and the dad is not. I don't trust any of them, and my ex's dad is a real asshat.

I just need some opinions because I don't know what to do, I don't even know what to feel. I do on some level feel obligated to allow them to see pictures or be somehow involved because they are technically my son's family.

At this point I don't want the dad in the picture at all. I used to, I've cried that he wasn't on behalf of my son, but I've come to think of it as be careful what you wish for.
