Am I Overreacting..?

LO is 14 months old. Bil is currently staying with us temporarily for a few weeks. I am very protective of LO as is DH. Unless I am around or DH, LO is not allowed to go anywhere with anyone else.

Bil likes to push boundaries just a little bit every now and then (or attempts to unsuccessfully at least).

We live in an apartment building, so for the last few weeks, LO has started to enjoy running around in the corridor outside our main door. Bil usually supervises while she plays around (about 10-15 mins at most).

Today, Bil asked to take her a few buildings down with his other niece who is 18 months (his sisters' LO who was visiting). He asked DH, and DH said no. Bil left with sil's LO only. No issues.

After sil leaves, Bil decided he wanted to do laundry at 12:30 in the morning in the laubdry room downstairs. He was taking Sil's Lo (who is spending the night here), and again, asked DH if he could take our LO. DH without asking me, said yes.

I told DH he should go with Bil. I'm not ok with Bil taking LO to the laundry room this late at night, and even regardless of how late it is, I'm just not ok with bil taking LO downstairs. Bil playing with Lo and supervising (voluntarily) on the floor is it. Anything beyond that, DH or I should go.

DH asked what the problem was and that if it was my brother, I would let LO go. I told him no, even of it was my brother, I would not. My brother has actually asked before but he knows how protective I am of LO and so he understands and doesn't push it.

I expained to DH that I am not comfortable with this and that this whole situation of leaving LO unsupervised just makes me nervous and that the floor is the extent of leaving her with anyone. He got up and went downstairs to the laundry room after that.

My question is, did I overreact? I just want a different POV on this. Is that too extreme? Should I have just let LO go with Bil without DH or I?
