So, first off, let me point out that I am a 42 year old woman having her 5th (not 1st) baby. I mention this only because in a previous post, I think some thought I was an unappreciative 20 something having her 1st baby who refused to accept the wisdom of my mother-in-law.
Now, that that is clear, I wish to provide further info about this miracle baby that I am so very blessed to have carried to 36 weeks so far.
5 years ago, with my children ages 18,17,12 & 11....we decided we wanted one more. Most thought we were crazy, as I was 37. After 6 miscarriages, I was diagnosed with factor 2 prothrombin and a progesterone deficiency. In the midst of this 5 years of trying, we also lost our 15 year old daughter in a preventable car crash caused by a racing teen driver who killed my daughter and was charged & convicted of vehicular manslaughter. After almost 2 years since her passing and having given up on having another baby AND had an IUD in place, we discovered last August we were pregnant. A gift I KNOW is sent from our angel. (We are having a girl and have named her Nevaeh (Heaven spelled backwards).
Anyway, now that you have the background info, I will continue with my MIL/FIL problem and ask for advice!
Now, while I realize (and appreciate) that my in-laws are so excited for this grandchild, THEY ARE DRIVING ME INSANE!
They live a mile down the road. I work from my home as a forensic RN and run Maine's Teen Driving Coalition as well as a Foundation in my daughters name. I AM BUSY and work while my youngest is in school. My in-laws seem to think because I am "home" that I "don't work" and literally have been visiting twice a day! My FIL comes for tea in the am and then when my MIL gets out of work around 2, she comes. At 36 weeks preggars and 42 years old, after sitting in office all day, by 2pm, I have needed a cat nap. However, my in laws don't care. We live a mile away from them and during day, my front door was always unlocked (my office is open to customers during day). Well, after a few weeks of in laws disregarding me telling them I was napping, I started locking my door during naps. I kid you not they will go to all my other doors and knock, call our cell phones, and then call my office phone if I don't come to the door. I was so ugly the last time this happened, I answered my phone (seeing it was them) and said "I'm napping, that's why I didn't answer the doors, the cells, your texts or the house phone!" My MIL says "oh, I will wait til 5 then to come over". Grrrrrrrrrrrr! THEN she came with a friend I'd never seen before to show her my nursery! My poor hubby got an ear full when he got home from work! So, we came up with a plan, took in laws out to dinner and told them that we have decided that because so many people are excited about the baby and will want to be visiting, but that momma is tired now and after baby will be exhausted and sleeping when baby sleeps, that if the doors are locked and a sign on the door saying "Baby & momma resting", then please come back another time. We THOUGHT that was enough of a hint. I FREAKING KID YOU NOT THE VERY NEXT DAY, she was back at 2pm, I was napping, heard her wiggle the locked door knob, and the dog bark, she left and I thought, "oh good...back to my nap"......BUT she went to her house, got our spare key and CAME BACK! Let herself in, and plopped her annoying ass down on the couch next to me and stayed for 2 hours! I am so annoyed and trying to keep peace here but I'm going to blow! MY HOUSE! MY BABY! GO AWAY!
So, my question is, how in the hell do I get a handle on this without offending before baby comes......cause if they think they will be here twice a day when I'm bonding & resting with beautiful baby girl, someone is going to be buried in my back yard! HELP! What do I do?
