So my MOO & FOO are CO. Since about April. (I have background on here somewhere, I'll try to link it in the comments). I haven't spoken to them since the lawn tantrums during the CO, with the exception of my mom having surgery on a cyst in her brain. I was already feeling a bit sad about the holidays (1st with CO FOO).
On Thanksgiving, my MOO sent me a text "Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours." I BH'd it and a few hours later she called. I didn't pick up.
Tonight I check my messages and see this from MOO:
"So it's nice you let strangers see our grand daughter but not us. You are really making our life hard and you will be sorry when LO starts asking questions. Don't you remember how you felt?"
She misspelled LO's name even. When we were still talking after LO was born, damn MOO refused to spell it correctly, even after being told multiple times she was wrong (because "that's the boy spelling").
Talk to me DWIL - remind me of why an explanation isn't going to help with my FOO (it's been eating at me that I never told them why). And help me with my fears that LO (16 months right now) is going to grow up to resent me because she didn't get to see that set of grandparents.
