DH and I are expecting our first baby in December. His parents, mil in particular have become like magnets towards me. Mil is a nurse. When I was 16 weeks she cane over with a Doppler so to hear the baby heartbeat. The other day she came over with a blood pressure monitor for me. I have to take medication called lovenox. Stupid DH told her. Her reaction, "Oh great, I'm a certified nurse, I can come do your injections for you." Lovenox injections bruise like hell. She'll tell me I'm not doing it right and let her do them for me.
Every Saturday she goes to the farmers market and buys lots of fruit to bring for me. DH and I found out the gender of our baby but haven't told anyone. Mil called asking the gender. I told her we weren't telling yet. She wants me to go to an imaging clinic to get an U/s so she can see the whole package.
I told her she was making me anxious and I felt smothered. For s first time mom to be im anxious but tired because of having to take lovenox and being bruised badly. She told me she knows best, has worked with her doctor for fifteen years, and what I'm going through she can handle. She told me I like too much stress and shouldn't stress my body out because I could get high blood pressure and preeclampsia. She let DH know if I get preeclampsia I'm putting her grandchild in jeopardy, and myself. Basically, she told us if we get complications, it's because we ignored her.
Every little scare or problem I get, DH calls her asking for help on what to do. I told him I would rather post on babycenter first than call her. He doesn't like my attitude because he tries to use his mother as being a nurse, as best advice. For example, we had sex one night and it hurt causing my stomach to pain. I went on my birth board to look for advice from others on why it happened. He called his mother and told her what happened, and asked if the baby would be ok. I was so angry with him.
I feel like going in a cave for the rest of my pregnancy. I don't know how to get mil off me?
