Difficult Mother Visiting

My mother is visiting from out of town and is staying here for two weeks. She's very controlling and is making a huge issue because I do not let her hold my 8 month old every time that she holds her arms out (which was constantly before I asked her to stop), and I take him back right when he looks at me and makes a little whimper. This indicates to me that he would like me to take him back, and she thinks it's overboard. He likes to stay close to me, and this is something that really bothers my mom. She'll roll her eyes or show some other obvious sign of disrespect or disapproval.

The backstory is that my mom abused me (physically and emotionally), and she still makes me very uncomfortable because of those memories. I am in therapy trying to figure out if it's possible to keep her in my life or if I need to cut her off. Cutting her off would create a lot of drama with my extended family, and I don't want that, if possible. They do not know about the abuse, and I don't want to tell everyone at this time. Maybe in the future but that's too much right now. She won't acknowledge that she was abusive, and we do not talk about it.

I realize that this is all dyfunctional, and that is why I am in therapy. I want to be sure that I am doing everything that I can to look out for and have a happy, functional family (with my husband and baby).

Basically, I feel stuck dealing with her for two weeks. I'm very protective of my son and will continue to keep him close despite whatever she thinks and just need some advice for how to deal with her for two weeks. She's telling everyone that will listen that I never let her hold him, and she's making me look nuts. I don't really care about what she's saying to me, but I am exhausted with her. She wouldn't hurt my son, but she may have an outburst with me. If that happens, then she is leaving and will not be coming back.
