there isn't a lot of us My crew of 5 people, my sil and her dh and son, fil, and mil aunt. i suggested we bring MIL out to brunch for her birthday. I meant the cute $13 a plate place around the corner but somehow it ended up being a nice restaurant in the historical part of town. $35 a freaking plate. When we were looking at places mil not so subtly hinted at a brunch on a boat-you pay $40 and passage on the boat. Even wen we reminded her that sil get sick she pushed for it bc "it's not open sea". We flat out told her no and she was butthurt.
The brunch on her actual birthday was at 1:30 bc she waited so long to say lets go there for my birthday, hoping we would relent about the brunch on the boat. We told her that it's near closing and we could do next weekend if she wanted. She said no no. She came In 20
Minutes late to a reservation that was already the last sitting. She whined when they picked up the egg stuff from the egg station (buffet) bc she was so looking forward to champagne and eggs Benedict. The server went and the chef made her some. We didn't do a bottle of champagne she would literally drink one glass and no one else would & you had to buy by the bottle. I was starving by then, so I just went and got food and didn't wait for her to go first bc I waited 20 damn minutes for her to show up. Got a plate for me and helped my littles and sat down.
The food was amazing but the restaurant was picking up stuff as they thought we were done with it from the buffet.
She threw a fit that she was being rushed by everyone on her birthday. Well, they've worked since like 5 am and it's now 3pm, so
It's a very nice restaurant. A lot of wedding receptions are there. I enjoyed every bit of it except for her whining.
Her aunt wasn't able to make it so she whined about that during the dinner, like I could have helped it.when she felt better, the aunt took her out and she mentioned the aunt bought her champagne.ffs your husbands a retired geologist by your own damn champagne!
It's been 3 weeks and I'm still miffed.
It was $500 split between sil and us.
Next time we are going to IHOP
