I have this problem on my mind and am hopeful this board may offer useful suggestions. Dh wants to call Mil and (SFil) to come watch Ods while I'm delivering Ds2 at the hospital. Mil alone I'm not too thrilled about but his SFIL is a loud mouthed jerk who's lived here for 30 yrs, refuses to learn the language and then complains that we only speak English around him. Oh... He also said our house is dirty despite having weekly maids. So.. letting them come also means letting them stay in my house unsupervised alone because they live a couple hrs away. The thought of them alone in my house makes me upset and I'm dreading whatever mess/spectacle I come home to. With a new baby. There's really nobody close I can call if I go to hospital in the middle of the night. I would call a service but because Dh was molested as a child (by his uncle Not a stranger) he is dead set against that idea. Also.. Dh does not get any rest with Mil around. Ideally he could come home after Ds2 birth relieve the sitter and catch up on rest while I recover in hospital. Ds1 goes to ps and is a great sleeper.But He will not get any rest with his mother around. Its Lets go here, I need to do this, Let's do this. She talks really loudly and doesn't believe in sleeping. Come to think of it Ds was really sick a couple months ago and slept into noon once. A rare occurrence for sure. Dh told her and She said, "You're going to make a lazy child." Dh turns into a Duh when he's not rested. I also just don't want her there the first days or wks or whatever I freakin feel like after I give birth. I'm not gonna get rest when she's there. Any other suggestions?
