My SIL (bro's wife) asked my family to buy a specific gift for DN birthday. She sent me the link to order it online. I was fine with that because I did ask what to get him. The gift was from my family of four. It was pretty expensive as far as kid toys go, but still fine by me.
Well, she just sent me and her mother a text that says the following:
"Both of you got DN a fireman theme gift. One of you needs to take it back."
I don't know what to say. I asked bro what was up, and he told me her mom wants to give the only fireman theme gift. So, I guess I'm supposed to return mine, but I can't because it's personalized and the site I purchased it from doesn't do returns.
What should I do? SIL told me to get this exact gift from this exact site. Also, the gift bro's MIL is giving is not the same gift. It's just the same theme. How do I respond to this?
