My dad and ex step mom divorced 4 years ago, they had two children together, who are now 10 and 8(i think). I havent seen either of them in 3 years. My stepmom was like a mother/friend to me, I was there for her when my dad went batshit, offering her support etc while we went through wondering if my dad was okay or not. She promised that no matter what she wouldnt stop me from seeing my siblings, and still wanted to be a part of my life. However after a year, she got sole custody of the kids, and stopped talking to me, calls go to voicemail which never get returned, messages on facebook get seen but she doesnt reply. I ask how my siblings are, or if i could meet up with them. Nothing. I'm hurt that she did this, I love her and my siblings, to go this long without seeing them sucks.
I want them to know who I am, I want them to know their family. My sister gave up 100% saying she'll just wait till they are old enough to decide if they want to see us, which is the same thing my dad has done. 
Do I just give up? Do I maybe try calling more then I do? (I call once a month, leave a voicemail. I message on facebook once a month. I dont want to harrass her) I am NOT asking for ANY legal advice, simply some ideas as to how i can approach this situation. Should I be more direct then "hey how are you guys?" or "I'd love to come see you all"
This is complicated as her and my dads split up was not friendly.I was there the night it happened. I was supportive, and I'm trying to understand what I did wrong that she doesnt care enough to return any contact attempts.
