I have posted here before and received great advice, and I read posts here all the time.
Since the holidays I have been pondering this, as it kind of bothers me but I don't know if it's favoritism or not. DH and I have two sons, 3yo and 3mo. Obviously DS1 is at a really great age for Christmas where he can appreciate and play with toys. DS2, not so much, though it was his first Christmas. Our kids are the only "local" GC/GGC, which matters because they were the only children at DH extended family's Christmas gift exchange event.
I just saw a big disparity in gifts given to my two sons. DS1 got a lot of really fun/expensive toys and some very nice clothes as well. DS2 received gifts from all the same family, but they were noticeably not as nice or expensive. I mean, I know DS2 is just a baby, but DS1 still got a lot of nice things at his first Christmas.
Thoughts? Am I reading too much into this because DH whole family is totally my BEC in addition to being chronically enmeshed and lacking in appropriate boundaries?
