Hi All,
Trying to decide if I am being the DUW here or if DH is being unreasonable.
Recently had my first baby. I also have DSS who is 6.
My parents have always been very generous with DSS' presents. Now that the baby is here, Easter was equivalent or favoring DSS (as big kid presents are more expensive).
However, they would like to start contributing college fund money for the baby and not DSS. My Dad recently received a small inheritance from my grandma that he would like to pass on and then they will likely be contributing a couple grand a year.
My DH feels this is unfair to DSS.
However, DSS has maternal grandparents of his own. His maternal grandparents contribute college fund monies to DSS' college account. I know that DSS' maternal grandparents won't be putting dollars in the baby's account
so it seems parallel to me.
Am I missing something here? I have agreed with DH that monies we ourselves save for college will be equal amongst the kids.
