So my MIL is one of those "for show" people who aren't really around very often but love to post all over fb what a good grandmother she is. She has always hated me, said I was white trash and didn't deserve to be with her son. Until I got pregnant, then she "just loved me to death" (her words).
When ds was born she lived 15minutes away from us and only seen him every 3-4 months for 15-30minutes at a time. (her abusive now ex husband was more important then seeing her son or grandson.) Shed come over, take his picture and leave then put it all over fb saying how much she "loves him".
Is it bad that I make this woman schedule visits so I can clean the whole house in advance instead of just dropping in as she pleases? She texts my dh and says "I'm gonna try to come over on this day to see you" because she knows if she just drops in randomly I get pissed off severely.
We all have those people who we don't care when they come or what our house looks like, my MIL is not one of those people. Seriously when we moved into our new house the first time she came over was "to look at our house".
She's toxic and fake and I just feel like someone like that should have to schedule a visit like a guest instead of dropping in like family.
