So, we are glad FIL has sought help. Need a translation for DH. To be clear, we are not considering allowing him in our familys' life at this time. We are on the same page as far as that, at least for now. My DH was not impressed with the email entitled "sorry" (insert my epic CBF) but thinks it is a baby step. i don't consider it to be. So, DWIL, translation for my DH would be great. Also, do you see any hope from this? i do not. Am i just too BEC?
I am writing to tell you that even though I don't totally agree with "guidelines" imposed on your mother and my seeing your children, our grandchildren, I am sorry for not accepting them. I have recently been in treatment for major depression and I have learned to look at things in a different light. I am making great progress. I can now think of you and your family without crying. I hope this change will one day bring some closure to our not being allowed to even see pictures of your children.
Sidenote, therapy will be starting in the next few weeks. There was more to the email that i can't post here. In a nutshell, FIL lost his job due to agressive behavoir towards a pateint. The man will never ever be unsuprevised anywhere near or children. Ever.
