It's NONE of my business!

I want to scream it from the rooftops.


DH and I are pretty independent when it comes to our nuclear family time (we don't spend a lot of time with either FOO anymore thanks DWIL). We are not financially dependent on anyone (I'm a SAHM DH works his ass off because we aren't entitled to anyone else's money. In the one instance we asked MIL for a loan it was paid back immediately. In full)

We have very clear boundaries and we enforce them like it's our job.


My SIL (DHs sister) and her DH are the complete opposite. Which is her business. I honestly don't care. Good for them.


What bugs me is that DH and I are constantly hearing about it. My MIL will say "Oh! We bought SIL a car!" "Oh well the house I bought for SIL is the last house I'm buying!!" No amount of bean dip, and no BH is big enough to get them to stop.


I mean it's great that they're helping them but it's none of my business. I honestly don't care that SIL invited you on her honeymoon. I don't care that you're paying for her wedding. Its YOUR money. Do whatever YOU want. It's like she's trying to validate what she does? Looking for a shoulder pat? Excited about it? Looking to drive me crazy? Showing off?


How do I make it stop?
