Ladies. Been up here in Canada lurking you for months, on the recommendation of a fellow BabyCenterCanada member to assist with transitioning my BatShitCrazy MIL from being an omnipresent cloud of dogfarts (we lived with her) to LC (living in same city) to ELC (sold house and moved towns) all whilst dealing with the Supreme DUH. Looking for more advice to see if a CO is justified. It may seem like a no brainer to you, but remember I am Canadian, so being a spineless pleaser runs in my veins like maple syrup.
Offences by MIL:
1. Got me and DUH and DD1 and DS2 to "move in with her so she could help". We sold our house and moved cities. My DH works away for months at a time and at that point me and MIL were ok and I could have used the help. It was a fucking trap of lies. "Help" was the standard shitbox of critique and guilt.
2. Four weeks into a new job and four weeks before I was to write my UFE to be a CPA she completely abandons all the babysitting she commited to, forcing me to scramble for childcare. I make DUH buy a house and move us out. LC transition to about 1-2 visits a month.
3. Borrows $ from DUH without my knowledge, bounces cheques to us, cries poverty to DUH. I rage spiral upon discovery of this, list house for sale, enter ELC phase.
4. Only see her on "special occasions/holidays". Make dinner plans for SIL bday. Dinner res @ 6:30. We have three hungry kids to wrangle. Young kids. MIL fucking is 1.5 HOURS late, meanwhile no one will allow anyone to order until the grand puhbah MIL arrives bc it "would be rude" meanwhile my kids are entering full exorsict mode. Finally after telling my DUH I am leaving for the tenth time I actually leave with my starving kids and proclaim that I am entering a CO contemplation.
4. The day after he INVITED HER TO BREAKFAST and I told him if she shows were getting divorced. My DUH is obviously still breastfeeding from her devil teets.
