I began lurking over a year ago, while pregnant. Thanks to DWIL, I haven't spoken to my abusive father since Christmas Eve last year! We also began setting some boundaries with my MIL, which has been a struggle. I could go on for hours about her- I've known her since I was 15. I'm sure part of the problem is letting her get away with boundary stomps for years because we were "just kids" (in our late twenties now).
Around 5 months ago, we had the first grandchild on both sides. MIL was extremely disrespectful in my hospital room, and she's been on TO since. However, I think she originally had us in TO to "punish" us. She's done that in the past, and we used to allow rugsweeping. So, of course, she wants to get us back in line and we've ignored her 2 text messages and 2 voicemails. Now she mailed us a 3 page letter of BSC and rewriting history.
So.Much.Rage. I'm trying to fight the urge to call her up screaming. Do we send a rebuttal? Continue to black hole? Send a "do not contact us again" text?
