DH calls my FOO "mom" and "dad". I started doing the same with his FOO the day we wed, but after the conflict with her, her p/a, individual and couples therapy, I came to realization that it's better to be sincere. I don't feel she's my mom since she barely talked to me, and never showed she liked me. Is it ok to start referring to her as "mother-in-law"? Or simply by name? Or "mother-in-law + name"?
Or is it too late?
She's been calling me "daughter-in-law" all along until the last email where she refers to me as her "daughter". She sounds like she's finally trying to have a relationship but she squeezes this "daughter" and "love" and "prayers" out of her butt. I guess I'm cautious of her after the hurt she's caused and don't trust her, so she's kind of a BEC. DH says she loves us, she's family, and anytime she's annoying I should just ignore her. We rarely see her.
