She's mostly pretty great but my normal meter may be broken. I don't have a relationship with my mother so I have grown close with her, at least I thought I had.
The latest has to do with my health. God help us if she is sick or DH or the kids are sick. It's always "You need to take them to urgent care NOW". But when I'm sick it's no big deal of course.
Latest example: I mentioned that I have had a terrible cough and have been feeling pretty awful. Her response? It's just allergies and everyone has a cough. You just can't wait for summer (I'm a teacher).
I finally went to the doctor on Friday and guess what? I have fucking pneumonia. She didn't have much to say when DH told her but that shit pisses me off. I know I shouldn't be so bothered by it but it just feels like no one cares when I'm sick. Oh it's just Lakergirl, she'll be fine.
When DH is sick, she calls every day to check on him. Ask me if I've gotten a fucking phone call? She texted this morning that she was sad she didn't get to FaceTime the boys over the weekend (bitch I was in bed with PNEUMONIA) and adds "Hope your feeling well".
Am I being too sensitive about this?
